This was our first time dining at Blaze. My boyfriend and I browsed the menu for a few minutes before getting in line. We were greeted by smiling & helpful employees who walked us through the process. I built my own pizza with their regular crust, red sauce, vegan cheese, green peppers, roasted red peppers, roasted garlic, black olives, & mushrooms. The employee handling the cheese even asked me if I would like him to change his gloves, which I declined because that's a waste of plastic to me. The gesture was nice & very appreciated though! While we waited for our pizzas to come out of the oven, I stopped at the drink station and filled up a cup of their blood orange lemonade. We sat down to eat in the corner near the order line directly in front of the main entrance. My boyfriend really enjoyed his pizza. My pizza was good, but the veggies weren't really cooked, particularly the mushrooms. We both LOVED the roasted garlic! My drink was kinda bland. I ended up dumping the rest and trying their açaí berry fresca drink instead, which was equally bland. Because they propped the front doors open & it was chilly outside, our pizzas got cold quicker. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves & we will be back! We went a second time with our roommates, and the place was packed! The line was out the door. Once we got to the counter to order, I felt extremely rushed by the employees, which I kinda understand since it was busy. However, they were throwing toppings on very carelessly. The associate at the end of the line asked me if I wanted oregano or salt on my pizza, which I replied with "No." She proceeded to sprinkle oregano & salt on my pizza regardless. Wut? LOL When my pizza came out of the oven, I asked for a light drizzle of balsamic glaze. The associate put way more than I would've liked. The pizza was still good, but not what I imagined or ordered, technically. I will continue to eat here because my boyfriend really enjoys Blaze, and it's not easy for a vegan & a non-vegan to find a restaurant we both can eat at and enjoy. Thank you for serving vegan options!
