My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant twice during our three day stay in Barcelona. Our first visit was on 8/27/19 around 1pm, their opening time. During this visit, we were delighted with their tapas. We had the croquettes and the calamari. My boyfriend, who is not vegan, would not stop bragging about how good the food was. However, when we ordered the paella, we were told they had ran out. I was baffled, being that this the traditional dish and probably the main reason why a vegan would visit the restaurant. However, I was understanding, being that it was early in the day. We were told that if we returned later that day the paella would be ready, but being that we were visiting for such a short amount of time, we were unable to revisit that day because we had other excursions planned. We asked when would be another good time for us to return, and were told that any evening, around 7pm would be best. Following their own advise, we made reservations for 8/29/19 at 7pm, and spent a day and a half looking forward to going back. During our dinner visit, we started off with the tapas again, which were delicious, but didn’t have too much, since we were looking forward to the paella. I honestly wish we had not ordered the paella because it was such a disappointment. The moment it came out by boyfriend looked at me in disgust and said it smelled like Brussel sprouts, which isn’t a very appetizing scent. Since it looked promising, and he’s not much of a veggie eater, I went ahead and tried it for myself. What a mistake. After having a few bites I began to feel sick to my stomach and could not finish the meal. After sitting with the dish in front of us for various minutes and no one coming around to check on us, I finally asked for the bill. When they can go pick up the food, I told the waiter the paella was honestly a disappointment and we did not like it. The waiter brought the bill, and another employee came out to charge our card. While charging our card, she begins to apologize for us not liking our food. She said that they are “having a difficult time receiving their deliveries because most delivery service providers are on vacation. To please come again.” If this is the case, why offer customers a menu item if you know it won’t be your best product. I loved having to pay 16.80 Euros for a dish that 1. I could not have and 2. Made me sick. Very disappointed and WILL NOT be coming back.
