Thali restaurants offer traditional Indian cuisine, with respect to the different regions of India. Like in India, various delicacies are served on stainless steel dishes, called Thali. Dairy-free and gluten-free dishes are labelled. Ask for vegan options. Thali restaurants use locally sourced vegetables and fruit when possible. Many products are made on-site, such as their own cordials and coffee syrups. Importantly, Thali restaurants have made take-away food environmentally-friendly by establishing a waste-free take-away system for all of their restaurants. You can buy a tiffin for £27.50, full of your favourite Thali. Every time you get take-away food, the tiffin is refilled. No need for disposable containers or packaging. The cheapest refill is £9.50 and serves two people. Moreover, Thali restaurants donate 50p from litre bottle of Thali Water to provide safe water for people living in the slums of Agra.
