Mitchell's Homemade Ice Cream in Strongsville, Ohio, is one of a chain of hand-crafted ice cream shops in and around the Cleveland area.
The company focusses heavily on being environmentally sustainable. For example, in their flagship store in Ohio City, they use solar panels to power their fridges and freezers and they re-use waste heat from the large freezers they use to then heat water in the building.
To make their ice creams, they source their ingredients locally and use fair-trade suppliers when possible, and although they are not specifically a vegan eatery, they do have a couple of vegan smoothies, ice cream and sorbet flavors on the menu (for example, salted caramel pecan, chocolate, and mango).
It is possible to hold private events and birthday parties at the venue and private parties and functions can also be catered for.
