Established in 2005, The Refectory Café was originally located on Duke campus and was its first 'green café'. Now at Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard, the aim of The Refectory Café remains the same: 'to be a “one-of-a-kind” local farm to table restaurant where omnivores, vegetarians, vegans, plant-based diets and gluten-free diets could all happily share a table together in the same facility.'
Ordering is easy, with a good selection of vegan dishes that are clearly marked on the menus. The Refectory Café also offers “casual fine dining” in the evenings with table service and a full bar.
