The Ethiopian Restaurant in Denver has been open since 1985 and was the first Ethiopian restaurant in Colorado. The menu has several vegan dishes. The meser wat (lentils stewed with berbere sauce), yater alicha (yellow split peas cooked with onion and garlic) and the vegetarian special (a platter with 4 dishes and injera flatbread) are vegan. Ethiopian beers are served. You cannot miss the building, with its bright red, yellow and green paint like the Ethiopian flag.
