Trip Advisor Green Kilt I loved this quirky wee café ( which was really only an afterthought of this small family catering outfit) Great selection of freshly made meals with fantastic salads which fairly sing on the tastebuds. I’ve eaten there 4 or 5 times already and the soup of the day with bread has been great value and super tasty. They mostly cater for outside functions but have squeezed a few tables and chairs into the front shop and have a great selection of vegan and gluten free choices. I particularly loved my sweet potato and Harissa vegan tartlet with a full salad. Ruth on front of house is very knowledgeable about Edinburgh and Scotland is happy to blether about most subjects and seems to create new treats on the baking front every time I’m in. The Portuguese custard tarts are gone very quickly when she’s baked a batch. Dan is the chef and has a wealth of experience cheffing in top-end eateries according to the blurb on the menus and turns out first rate food. Yes all-in/all a wee gem of a place for a bite to eat in Porty and one I’ll be going back to.
