Three of us went today for lunch. The place is beautiful and we were encouraged to sit wherever we wanted. We all picked the Luncheon Special. It was supposed to come with a soup, a choice of fried spring roll or dumplings, an entree, and hot tea. Today they did not have fried spring rolls. Two of us ordered the Yellow Curry entree and the other ordered the Mango Curry entree. The soup was up first. It was delicious but spicy. The entrees were brought out next. Two of us got dumplings on our plates but for some reason one of us didn’t. We all ordered the Luncheon Special that supposedly includes this so we weren’t sure why one of us didn’t get dumplings. The dumplings, though, were very good. The food was also very tasty although some of the green beans and red peppers seemed a little undercooked. Once we finished eating, we sat waiting for someone to come give us our tea or perhaps take our dirty plates away, but we waited for about 20-30 minutes. I will say that by this point there were a lot of people there for lunch, but we saw some waiters polishing silverware instead of coming to our table. I guess they weren’t that busy after all. Finally someone comes by and asks if we want the check, but I remind him of the tea. Seemed weird that I had to ask for what I ended up paying for. The tea itself was great, though, and we got plenty of it. Here’s the weirdest part lol. We saw a case by the front with cakes and saw a Sweet Potato Carrot cake on display. There was a sign, too. Because no one was (again) coming to our table, I had to approach the front to ask for a slice. Once the slice was brought over and we took a bite, we quickly realized it was actually a Peanut Butter Chocolate cake. I’m still perplexed by this, although that surprise cake was good and we did eat it. Finally we were ready to leave but no one came to our table again to give us the check. We kept seeing other tables getting serviced much better than ours, so perhaps they didn’t like us. As a queer person, I immediately wondered if they were homophobic. I can’t tell for sure. Instead of paying at our table like everyone else, we had to walk to their counter and pay at their register. I don’t even know what to make of this experience myself but do what you will with it. Keep in mind that the food was tasty, but if you’re allergic to something be careful here, please.
